Support & Guidance From Our Team

We are here to help and guide our students throughout their employment search in the UAE.

For optimum results, our intensive English programmes offer lessons five days a week, with classes taking two to four hours a day, over a minimum of 12 weeks. These classes are supported by afternoon enrollment workshops that help students put their skills into practice while offering help with CV writing as well as job interview preparation. Our admin staff are always available for advice and guidance on living in Dubai, and we also offer the flexibility to convert outstanding course time into evening classes that provide working students with language support as they navigate new careers in the UAE. Our in-house career counseling and guidance aims to help students find fulfilling work in fields suited to their individual skillsets while enhancing their English speaking. As you can see from our weekly classroom schedule, our programmes support students from the moment they arrive in the UAE and offer comprehensive plans that build their English-speaking confidence while providing everything they need to find and sustain a career.

Visas

We offer student visas for three or six months, depending on students’ needs. Our minimum enrollment period is 12 weeks on an intensive General English course, involving two or four hours of learning per day. Students can apply for their visa from outside the UAE or within the country if they are already here on a tourist visa.
As soon as students find work within the UAE, the transition from student to employment visa is quick and easy, supported by our admin staff, who are more than happy to assist with the process and answer any questions.

Working in Dubai

As a regional hotspot with a healthy economy and diverse population, people from around the world flock to Dubai to live and work, making the most of year-round sunshine, tax-free incomes and a high quality of life.
There are a number of industries that offer employment opportunities in the city, and the wider UAE, including; tourism, marketing, finance, real estate and customer service. At Speak English Institute, we help channel students’ skillsets and ambitions into sustainable career paths within their desired industries. We offer support in preparing for work by assisting them with CV writing, interview prep and organising documentation, including getting their relevant qualifications attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We do, however, recommend that students have their qualifications attested before they arrive in the UAE, if possible.

Cost of Living

The cost of living in Dubai can vary greatly depending on individuals’ lifestyles and living situations - renting accommodation for one in Dubai’s Downtown district, for example, is a lot more expensive than choosing a co-living space slightly further from the city centre. As a general rule, we would recommend that students budget a minimum of AED 6,000 monthly to accommodate all living expenses, including rent. Alongside accommodation costs, transportation expenses should also be taken into consideration. If opting for our student accommodation, students can enjoy free bus transportation to and from Speak English Institute during the day, but in the evenings, they will need to factor AED 50 to AED 100 for a taxi ride home. If students decide to find housing closer to the institute, they may have easier access to more public transport options. Speak English Institute itself is conveniently close to Dubai Metro and tram services, which afford easy transportation to most areas in the city.
While dining out can be expensive, the cost of food is generally reasonable in Dubai, with a variety of budget options available. A food budget of AED 400 per week should be more than enough to cover all meals, although this is dependent on where students do their food shopping. Having lived in Dubai for a number of years, our staff are always happy to share their knowledge of the city with students.

Places to Stay and Cost of Accommodation

There are numerous options for accommodation to suit all budgets across Dubai. Speak English Institute offers student accommodations in KSK community, located in Academic City, around 25 minutes by bus to the school. These options feature a number of amenities that include a gym, pool, cafeteria and a computer and games room - they are also the most affordable accommodations we recommend, at AED 2,500 to AED 4,500 per month.
Students could also opt to rent a studio flat in Jumeirah Lakes Towers. Located roughly five minutes away from Speak English Institute on foot and close to a number of public transportation options, this kind of living costs around AED 5,000 monthly, or AED 3,000 monthly for studio shares.
Another great option for students is a co-living community in Jumeirah Village Circle, where studios cost around AED 5,500 monthly and provide access to a host of amenities.
As a diverse and friendly city home to millions of expats, we’re confident that wherever students choose to live in Dubai, they’ll have no problems making friends, socialising and discovering all that the city has to offer.
