What are you qualifications?

I have an undergraduate degree (B.A.) in English with a minor in Education, in addition to my CELTA training which focuses on teaching English as a foreign language.

What did you do before teaching?

I studied education and English in university, so teaching has been my sole focus. That said, I have taught creative writing, academic writing, and professional communication, in addition to teaching English as a foreign language.

Why did you get into teaching?

I have always loved teaching, from the time I tutored my classmates as a student to when I studied educational theory at university. I feel that teaching is a calling for me.

Why did you get into teaching?

I love knowledge and I love imparting that knowledge to others. I find teaching to be joyful, energizing, and deeply meaningful; and I think that learning should be the same. I strive to make my lessons fun, practical, and energetic. I am fascinated by pedagogy, and always try to introduce new ideas and better learning methods into my classes.

Tell us about your experience.

I have taught for more than 10 years in 8 different countries, in situatuons ranging from universities to non-profit organizations. I have taught every level, from pre-literate beginners to advanced speakers looking to improve their academic English. I have a lot of experience creating a curriculum that is customized to my students and their unique needs. I spend a lot of my free time thinking about and researching pedagogy, and I always enter the classroom energized to try a new activity or method of learning.
